Southerly currently has an active campaign running with the Australian Cultural Fund (an initiative of Creative Australia). These donations will fund our 2027 print issue, supporting Southerly to pay fair wages to writers, enrich Australian literary culture, and publish the best of Australian literature, poetry, and criticism. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
We may be Australia’s longest-running literary journal, but we always need and appreciate funds to keep on publishing. Southerly editors are not paid. All money goes to paying writers, production and distribution of the issues, and a small amount goes to administration, including maintaining our website.
